  • Some Stuff I Know I Know - About Spirits

    So I finally summoned all the spirits. Here's a post about all their summoning and leveling costs. A lot of this information has been in the forums, but I though I'd put it all together in one post and add some final information.
    Summoning Costs
    1. 1 essence
    2. 2
    3. 4
    4. 8
    5. 15
    6. 28
    7. 53
    8. 100
    9. 185
    10. 338
    11. 613
    12. 1,099
    13. 1,949
    14. 3,419
    15. 5,932
    16. 10,176
    17. 17,262
    18. 28,951
    19. 48,005
    20. 78,685
    21. 1.27 A ~= 127,000
    22. 2.04 A
    23. 3.23 A
    24. 5.05 A
    25. 7.80 A
    26. 11.9 A
    27. 17.9 A
    28. 26.7 A
    29. 39.3 A
    30. 57.1 A
    31. 81.9 A
    Total Summoning Cost: 256 A = 25,600,000 essence

    (This is approximate as larger values are only given up to three digits. That is, 1.27 A ess is not necessarily exactly 127,000 ess, but could be as little as 126,500 ess rounded up, or 127,499 ess rounded down)

    Leveling Costs

    If the level cost follow an obvious pattern, I will present the pattern, as well as a list of the first few level costs. If the cost does not follow an obvious pattern I will present a list of the level costs as far as I have. For spirits with a max level, I will give the "total cost" which will give the cost of purchasing all level above Level 1, as the cost of Level 1 is set by the summoning cost.
    Damage

    Thoran - Spirit of Power
    Increases Overall DPS

    Cost: L => {1, 2, 3, 4, . . . }
    Interval: L * 10%
    Max: N/A

    The first level costs 1 essence - since this is the summoning cost of the first spirit and you must summon Thoran first, no matter what.
    After that every level will cost the value of that level - to level Thoran from Level 123 to Level 124 will cost you 124 ess.

    Level 1 gives you +10% DPS
    Level 2 gives you +20% DPS for a total of +30%
    Level 3 gives you +30% DPS for a total of +60%
    Level 4 gives you +40% DPS for a total of +100%
    Level 5 gives you +50% DPS for a total of +150%
    etc.
    Thoran and Wyx seem to be the only spirits for which the interval from level to level is not constant.

    Talos - Spirit of Rage
    Increases DPS while clicking

    Cost: {Summon, 3, 5, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, 32, 36, 42, 47, 52, 58, 64, 70, 76, 83, 89, 96, 103, . . . }
    Interval: +10% DPS
    Max: N/A

    See Valnor for the likely cost of additional levels, as Valnor's levels follow an identical cost pattern to this point.

    Every level will give you an addition +10% DPS
    So at Level 21 you are receiving +210% DPS while you are actively clicking

    Ursor- Spirit of Battle
    Increases click damage

    Cost: L2 (L > 1) => {Summon, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36,49, 64, . . . }
    Interval: +10% click dmg
    Max: N/A

    Every level will give you an addition +10% click dmg
    So at Level 21 you are receiving +210% click dmg

    Kurchak - Spirit of Strength
    Increases critical click chance

    Cost: {Summon, 10, 15, 20, 25}
    Interval: 1% chance per click
    Max: Level 5 - 5% chance per click
    Total Leveling: 70 ess

    Fenros - Spirit of Cunning
    Causes critical clicks to deal more damage

    Cost: {Summon, 3, 7, 11, 17, 23, 30, 38, 47, 56, 66, 77, 89, 101, 114, 128, 142, 157, 173, 189, 206, . . .}
    Interval: +25% critical hit dmg
    Max: N/A

    Khan - Spirit of Might
    Increases bonus DPS from Weapons Enchantments

    Cost: {Summon, 3, 5, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, 32, 36, 42, 47, 52, 58, 64, 70, 76, 83, 89, 96, 103, 110, 118, 125}
    Interval: +4%
    Max: Level 25 - +100%
    Total Leveling: 1307 ess

    20 enchants = +500% DPS (for that hero)
    Level 1 Khan = +4% bonus DPS
    4% of 500% = 20%
    Final DPS boost = 520%

    Total Boost = NE*25*(1 + 0.04*L)%
    Ex.
    NE = number of enchants = 20
    L = level of Khan = 3
    Total Boost = 20*25*(1 + 0.12)% = 560%

    Avar- Spirit of Bounty
    Increases bonus DPS from Hero Quests

    Cost: {Summon, 3, 5, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, 32, 36, 42, 47, 52, 58, 64, 70, 76, 83, 89, 96, 103, 110, 118, 125}
    Interval: +4% bonus DPS

    The series which begin {Summon, 3, 5, 8, 11, . . . } => L3/2 (L > 1)
    The series which begin {Summon, 3, 7,11, 17, . . . } => L7/4 (L > 1)
    The series which begin {Summon, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, . . . } => L11/10 (L > 1)

    All number rounded to integers, of course.

    Essence Deals

    Just a reiteration of your best deals for earning essence.

    Time Distortions

    At their absolute best value, (Mega) Time Distortions give:

    TD - 1500gems / 380ess = 3.95 gems/ess
    Mega TD - 15000gems / 5700ess = 2.63 gems/ess

    Warped Bosses

    You can return to lower levels using the wheel in the upper right of the screen to select previous stages. You can fight enemies and bosses as many times as you want.

    Warp a boss with True Colors then copy the power again and again using Frankenmorph and spending gems to recharge it. It can be repeated as many times as like, just note that you cannot use any other hero powers to help you with the boss with this method, so make sure you can defeat the boss easily.

    With only the talent "Energy Drink" to reduce Frankenmorph's timer by 25% (i.e. without the spirit Neireen) a full recharge of Frankenmorph cost 191 gems.
    Any boss worth 73 essence or more is a better deal than even MTD's.

    Warped boss - 191gems / 73 ess = 2.61 gems/ess

    If you can easily defeat a boss that drops at least 73 essence you can always get a better deal than buying TD's After that it's just down to how much time you want to spend repeatedly recharging Frankenmorph.

    Quests

    Since The GRIND (The Great Rare Item Drop Nerfing (yes I'm aware) ) quest aren't as viable an essence option as they once were, but they're still an option. After 273 quests a complete skip of the 24hr quest timer for 720 gems is worth more than a MTD.

    720 gems / 274ess = 2.63g/ess

    After that they continue to increase in essence value.

      Thank you for all of that! That is a serious amount of work.

      I just wanted to point out to folks, that while there is no max for Seraph, leveling it to where Tina is above Level 200 is a waste of essence. Unless I am really missing something.

        So Seraph was actually the last spirit I summoned. Knowing I was going to renew all my spirits soon, I kept dumping essence on her, trying to see how far I would have to level Tina to get my click damage comparable to my DPS. It took something like 2000+ levels when I had Hilda at ~950 (which gives me just enough DPS to idle through the Devourer), so there didn't seem to be much point.

        The only point I saw was when starting a new star; with only enough starting gold to get Hilda to ~300, my click damage was much higher than my DPS. And Time Gates apparently don't necessarily depend on DPS, but which ever is greater - DPS or click damage. So the enemies in my first Time Gate were calibrated to the click damage comparable to the DPS of a level 950 Hilda - and dropped gold accordingly.

        So starting a gate with Tina at ~2000 or Hilda at ~950 (all rough estimates and dependent on other spirits of course) gives enemies of the same HP/gold value. This meant they dropped enough gold to actually get Hilda up to 950 in my first Time Gate, where as normally it takes me at the very least three Gates. I would only have to do one Time Gate, then leave my phone for an hour or two and come back to a new star.

        I have enough essence that I could start Tina at 5000+ and probably idle through the Devourer on click damage alone - never even awaken anyone else. But that would ruin what little fun is left in the game, and no gates means less guild points.

        In conclusion: If you're advanced enough in the game, with enough essence, and don't care about gates or guild points, Seraph is a great spirit for grinding through stars. Other than that, no, I don't see the point.

      I probably don’t have as much quest bonus as you. I need Hilda to at least 1050 to idle through the devourer. With a few other heroes up close to that.

        And because I use my phone for other stuff :-) I think my fastest Star was 6 hours.
